Detecting THC use in Saliva
Cannabis use is notoriously difficult to detect in saliva, with most saliva drug tests looking for the presence of the THC metabolite which has proven to be extremely unreliable. To combat this, we have been working closely with the manufacturer to develop this test which instead detects the parent THC drug, which has proven to be far more reliable.
The salivary glands are only separated from the surrounding blood vessels by a thin skin. Therefore active ingredients such as drugs and medicines penetrate this membrane and pass from the blood into the saliva. For this reason, test results from blood and saliva samples are very similar. This is why the 7 panel saliva drug test is very effective.
The saliva home drug test kit is, in contrast to the blood test, non-invasive and therefore easy to perform everywhere.
The results for drugs such as cocaine, opiates, amphetamines and methamphetamines are almost identical to the results of blood analyzes as the transition from blood to saliva is very successful. As THC enters the saliva to a lesser extent. However, as THC accumulates in the oral cavity during smoking, so it also provides reliable evidence.
The saliva drug tests are a very efficient and reliable method of detecting drugs. This is due to their high level of agreement with the confirmation analysis in the blood. In contrast to urine tests, manipulation of saliva samples is almost impossible. This is because the test can be monitored at any time without harming the privacy of the test person.
