Mucosamin mouthwash treatment comes in a 250ml bottle and is designed to become part of your daily routine before and throughout your treatment. The mouthwash helps to protect the sensitive mucosal layer in your mouth. It is recommended that you use around 5-10ml of the Mucosamin mouthwash 3-4 times a day everyday keeping it in your mouth for 1 minute each time.
Mucosamin has been formulated to help in the regeneration of oral mucosa. It’s also used to help with the process of healing areas with then the mouth when ulcerations have appeared. As will as helping to heal the mouth it will also help to reduce sensitivity within the mouth.
Your cancer care team will recommend suitable treatment for you. This might include painkillers or medicines to ease pain. They also might recommend a mouthwash or spray. The mouthwash or spray you are usually given will be Mucosamin and this can help to prevent, relieve and treat oral mucositis caused by radiotherapy or chemotherapy. Mucosamin helps to prevent oral mucositis developing, reduce symptoms of dry mouth, relieves pain and helps to heal lesions.
