Trichomoniasis is a type of sexually transmitted infection caused by a tiny parasite. It is most easily passed through intercourse but can be transferred through skin-to-skin contact. Like many other STDs, the symptoms can vary, and most infected people can’t tell they’re infected, which is why testing is so important. Trichomoniasis is the most common curable STD, but it can increase the risk of getting or spreading other sexually transmitted infections if it goes unnoticed.
Testing must be completed in a sterile environment to ensure an accurate result. These tests are intended for professional medical use only. The test will show a coloured line to present a positive result, indicating that a proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred. Following a positive result, please seek further medical advice.
Testing for Trichomoniasis is one of the best ways to ensure sexual health. Check out our Trichomoniasis tests below; for more information, please read Sexual Health.
