Ketosis is a process that occurs in the body in the absence of carbohydrates. Instead of burning sugars, the body burns fat, producing ketones and altering its metabolic state. It is currently a popular method of fat loss. Ketosis can be indicated by taking a urine sample and testing for the presence of ketones.
Our urine dipstick tests are useful in detecting ketones in the body. An excess of ketones present in urine can mean a serious health condition such as diabetes or ketoacidosis.
