CANAC Soft Cat Flea Collars contain permethrin. Isn’t this highly toxic to cats?
Applied to a cat in high concentrations, such as a spot on, permethrin is extremely toxic. However, when used in a slow-release format (such as a collar), the concentration of permethrin in contact with the cat at any given moment is very low; below the so called “no effect level”. As such, permethrin flea collars are safe to use on cats. CANAC Soft Cat Flea Collars are fully licensed veterinary medicines. This means that it is not just CANAC saying they are safe to use, but also the independent vets and biologists at the Veterinary Medicines Directorate.
ALWAYS FULLY READ THE PRODUCT PACKAGING BEFORE USE.
Do not remove the collar from the blister until ready to use. Fasten around your cats neck (coloured side facing outwards), leaving enough room to insert 2 fingers between the collar and neck – remember to loosen the collar if fitted on a growing cat. Cut off any collar sticking out beyond the buckle. Wrap this cut-off in a bag and throw it in your dustbin. Keep the empty blister card for reference until the collar is thrown away.
For continuous protection, fit a new Beaphar Soft Cat Flea Collar every four months.
Store below 25°C. Store in the original packaging until ready to use. Keep away from food and drink, including animal feeding stuffs. Dispose of excess collar length, the used collar and empty packaging in the household rubbish.
