Bacterial Vaginosis, widely referred to as BV, is caused by an imbalance of the vagina’s pH levels. It is prevalent and will likely be experienced by 1 in 3 women at some point in their life. If you are suffering from BV, the main symptom is vaginal discharge, typically with a slight fishy odour.
Unfortunately, if you have suffered from Vaginosis, it is likely to reoccur throughout your life. It is caused by the vagina pH becoming too low. Vaginas are meant to be slightly acidic, and things such as intercourse, semen, and douching can all throw this off-balance. It can be treated over the counter with gel or antibiotics through your GP.
With our balance testing kits, you can easily test the vaginal pH levels quickly at home. If you want to learn more about BV and how to treat it, follow the link to our information page: Bacterial Vaginosis. Alternatively, browse our full range of female hygiene products.
